Meet Me

My aim is to provide warm, integrative care for mind, body, and soul.

Meet Me

I’m Dr. Lisa Hake, a board-certified psychiatrist with a lifelong passion for helping people find healing, meaning, and peace of mind. My path to psychiatry hasn’t been conventional — and that’s part of what shapes the care I offer today.

Before retraining in psychiatry, I spent over a decade as an eye surgeon and served as Assistant Chief in the Department of Ophthalmology at Kaiser Permanente. I chaired ethics committees, led multidisciplinary medical teams, and studied bioethics at Georgetown University and the University of Washington. But over time, I felt called to work not just with the body, but with the whole person — mind, heart, and soul.

I completed my psychiatry residency at the University of New Mexico, where I served as Chief Resident of Psychotherapy, followed by a two-year fellowship in Integrative Psychiatry through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona.

Focused on adult and geriatric psychiatry, with a special interest in:

  • Complex diagnoses
  • Trauma and dissociation
  • Neurodiversity and personality disorders
  • Dementia and neurocognitive disorders
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Thought disorders and psychosis spectrum care

You might be someone who:

  • Someone without a formal diagnosis but who is seeking insight, meaning, or soul-level orientation
  • Drawn to symbolic systems like the Enneagram, astrology, tarot, or energy work—even if you’re not quite sure why
  • Going through transition, grief, identity change, or internal restructuring
Longing for introspection after years of externally focused achievement or caretaking
  • Recovering from spiritual bypassing or overly rigid systems that made you feel small or broken
  • Struggling with direction, self-worth, or integration—even though others see you as “high-functioning”

My Credentials

As Director of Psychiatry at a 108-bed residential facility, I led care for individuals living with serious mental illness, brain injury, and progressive neurodegenerative conditions.

My practice blends evidence-based psychiatric treatment with depth-oriented, creative approaches to healing. I’m trained in a wide range of psychotherapies, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing (MINT-certified)
  • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Other Inspiration

I also draw on integrative and spiritual tools such as guided meditation, sound healing, and the Enneagram. I’m a certified yoga instructor, and my lifelong background in music infuses my work with rhythm, resonance, and respect for the soul’s unfolding journey.

I bring both medical precision and deep compassion to this work — grounded in the belief that healing begins when we are truly seen and heard.

Integrative Psychiatry, Ancient Self-discovery modalities, and more.
